Making the ty less stock

Starting with a stock ty, here are the parts i have/on their way, am i missing anything?

rpm stage 1 bolt on turbo(would have left stock, but compressor fins bent/damaged from crossover tube breaking, and got a good deal from a member here for a brand new turbo)
garett oil drain hose from rpm
walbro fuel pump
rpm cold air intake to fit their turbo
plugs,wires,cap,rotor, fuel filter
aldl cable
plx wideband
boost gauge
egr block off
3 bar map sensor
turbotweak velosyty chip

already changed all fluids in the truck

am i missing anything major/easy i should be doing? should i get some thermal blanket and wrap the downpipe while i have it off? trying to keep block and tranny stock for now, maybe vortec heads next year. I should be fine with the stock fuel pressure regulator right? At what point would i see benefit from adding meth to the system?

thanks!

Ditch the factory metal Intercooler lines and run heater hose.

An upgraded intercooler pump is a plus too. I am running a Bosch off of the SVT Cobra / Lightning series.

I like my adjustable fuel pressure regulator just because each truck is its own beast.

I plan on running water/meth and from my understanding it will benefit any boosted vehicle. Not only as an upgrade but as insurance against detonation.

The on-the-block oil filter conversion is well worth it just to clean up the engine bay a little.

I do not like header wrap for the fact that it traps moisture right against the pipe and causes rust. At least, this is my personal opinion.

Do all of the regular stuff, bushings, rebuild the front end and brakes if they have been neglected and then enjoy the Ty.

front brakes are stock but new, i have a bushing/bearing for the steering to get in when i can figure out how as well, adding soft IC lines to the list, and looking into oil filter relocation

Is this your bush?
Re: Making the ty less stock

Remove that oil cooler crap and go straight to the block. There's a thread so just search oil cooler delete. Gm will have the part its was like $12. Buy a gauge pod with 3 gauge holes. Boost gauge, trans temp gauge and wideband gauge. Buy an EBc such as a aem truboost/great for controlling boost ,none of that manual crap. Replace all vac lines , get in intercooler hard pipe and buy a BOF, mines a jgs simple and not annoying! Don't wrap the down pipe= oil leak= fire ,keep that in mind! I'm sure I'm missing some oh and you could tune with moats stuff also !Any
?s let me know!

Re: Making the ty less stock

I would replace the metal with rubber IC hoses. I would check the intercooler pump and replace it as needed, it maybe have already been replaced. (The stock ones usually didn't even last 10 years)

I wouldn't call the remote oil filter removal as a must have. If the remote oil lines aren't leaking, I would leave them be.

If the TurboTweak chip calls for higher fuel pressure than stock (I know the ultimate chip did) than you will need a adjustable fuel pressure.

I second replacing the vacuum lines.

Re: Making the ty less stock

so, 7 months later here is where i stand:

tuneup (plugs filters fluids etc)
turbotweak chip
rpm stage 1 turbo
rpm intake
replaced vacuum lines
3 bar map sensor
egr block off
replaced front control arm bushings and ball joints
replaced all shocks with kyb(stockers were in rough shape)
bearing at top of steering shaft
ic lines replaced with heater line
aem tru boost gague and controller
plx wideband(not hooked up yet
empty spot in 3 gauge a pillar mount(likely putting in trans temp gauge when i do research on which one to get/how to hook up)

3" downpipe back exhaust with magnaflow straight through muffler going in sat(still stock downpipe, but previous owner had stock exhaust replaced with a piece of crap system thats more restrictive than stock)
walboro pump and racetronix hotwire kit going in shortly
abs delete kit going in same time
also plan to do reclocked astro shaft with zq8 box around same time

what i plan to do next:
meth injection
work on tune(including aem tru boost)
debate getting an afpr and/or new injectors
blow tranny or engine
rebuild broken stronger and better!

i think that's all for now

Re: Making the ty less stock

Do all of the above, but make sure you get a blow off valve to keep the turbo from spinning backward when you let off the gas.
