when i used to fly model airplanes, an old man showed me a cool trick for mating the wing to the fusalage........
i had forgot about it till tonight, and was thinking it might work on my intake manifold. (upper to lower)

how to make a REUSABLE intake gasket

1. put down a bead of sensor safe RTV around the edge and around every port.
2. place a sheet of wax paper over it, and place the intake on top of the paper. make sure the intakes are lined up by placing a couple bolts in the holes
3. put just a little pressure on the upper intake to press down the RTV and squeeze the excess out the sides.
4. wait till its dry
5. remove the wax paper, and trim the excess RTV out of the way with an exacto knife.

now you have a reusable intake manifold gasket. its stuck to the lower, but the upper is totally removable without any hassle. ill try and get a picture up soon.

Just how often do you pull the upper?

Odds are the silicon will tear when you remove the upper after being subjected to heat and age.

I would be very careful that none of it ended up in the intake tract.

Gaskets are cheap. At least that one.

why dont you just cover one or both side of the regular gasket with Anti-Seize compound? that way it seals better and wont stick to the intakes??

Ive been doing my race cars that way for years. My intake gaskets have been on my intake for the last 6 years. I'll bet I had the intake off 50 times. Use 3m brake lube. it is anti-seize but with copper instead of that slimy silver stuff. I use permatex aviation cement on the manifold side.
