Mech FP gauage install

Howdy,

I wanna install a mechanical FP gauage in the near future. Two questions here:

1. Can I use the fuel rail test port to attach a cable to it? If yes do I've to prepare the port anyhow?

2. Can I connect a -4AN line to the port? The gauage end is using this size.

TIA,

Hi Falco. I noticed nobody has replied to your post. I don't have the answers but my truck does have the modification you are looking for, so hopefully this picture is better than nothing:

The previous owner did the installation so unfortunately I cannot help you with those details.

I do have about 5 of the 4AN couples, 1" long, to mount a small mechanical gauge directly on the fuel rail.

I have a electric gauge, but I know if you are going to install a mechanical gauge in the cab, you MUST use a gauge isolator for safety. You don't want a line full of pressurized fuel leading into the cab if ya know what I mean. Autometer makes gauge isolators.

Joemama,

I've an electrical also (from KB), but I'm afraid it's not accurate. I plan to mount the mechanical on the hood. I'm not quite sure on the final look, but we will see... Buick guys do this quite often.

Anyway there is an autometer -4AN line (#3229)with fittings which I ordered. Hopefully it will work this way.

Thanks,
