Motor-->Trans. bolts

THis is just a FYI kinda thing. The top two bolts that connect the bell housing to the engine block can be installed easily through the top with the upper intake manifold removed and you don't have to remove the trans. crossmember. The trick is use a piece of thread and tie a slipknot in it to hold the bolt and just hang it with one hand and push it through the hole with the other. Then just pull the thread until it breaks off the bolt and tighten with a wrench. After dropping and losing two bolts in the engine bay and 30minutes wasted, I decided to figure out a plan that works better. The thread trick only took me like 2 minutes.
HTH's anyone,

- All my Ty stuff is out and I will reinstalling in a few months.

I don't understand what U mean by - "U don't have to remove the Trans Cross member" I assume U mean the front member. With the engine mounted and the Transfer Case out ? The Trans attaches to the mount which is on top of the cross member, so what do U do, swing the engine forward a little bit so that the trans clears the member ? I had to remove the cross member to get the Trans out (minus TCase). U mean I didn't have to ?

Since my front member is already out, I was thinking out bolting up the TCase up 1st and then installing the whole Trans assembly at once. I would have to tilt the rear of the TCase over the rear cross member first and then bolt it to the engine. Apppreciate any advice.

Did it that way twice now, (with t case attached) putting in torque converters, just hooked a ratchet strap to back of t case and pulled everything back till i had room, actually first time was an accident, strap came off and tranny and t case fell out, to do this you need lube, about a 12 pack of bud will work.
