With the car puter, can you run a few amps and stuff like that? How many pre-outs do you generally get, if any?
I have been looking into it a bit, you can build your own and put whatever you want in it, you can also buy already setup deals. The one I found on ebay has 1 set of preamp outputs, to run amps, I guess you could run it to a mixer of some sort or just use pass through. They have a software front end that makes it touch screen friendly and looks like any of the double din units. With the carputers though you can run full xp if you want and run any program a computer runs so you could set up datamaster on it and have it integrated. A lot of people have them setup to be their audio system as well with no other head unit. The start-up times is longer, usually 20-30 seconds, but you can set them up to hibernate when the power is cut for an hour or two so when you just run in the store and come back out its back up and ready to go in 5 seconds. I like the idea of the carputer, its just more money than a regular setup.
