It's nothing too impressive, but as you can see from my mods the only real performance things done to the Ty is an intake and exhaust.
A couple Fridays ago while heading home from work, I turned onto a road and happened to notice the car in front of me was an 06-07 WRX (Not an Sti). I made sure to catch up with the WRX real quick, but unfortunately it's single lane and apparently we were both stuck behind someone who can only go the speed limit or below.
After a few miles we eventually reach a highway (only 45mph) to turn off on and the WRX goes to the far left lane and I follow. I'm just taking my normal way home as I notice the WRX gets on it and I want to see if I can keep up. We both get up to and remain around 60 without the Ty losing an inch to the WRX. As we approach the next light it turns red, and the WRX turns into the next lane almost cutting off another car. Now, here we are conveniently sitting right next to each other at the light.
We didn't do a stare down or anything... at least I don't think so, because I never really looked over. When the light turned green neither of us launched, because it was kind of an impromptu thing. I'm pretty sure I left before him, because I lost him in my peripheral vision. By the time I hit 60 I started to let off and check my mirrors, because I thought I may not have been racing him and was just looking like a dumbass. I didn't see him in my sideview mirror which I thought was odd considering he was in the lane next to me. That's when I noticed him starting to come out of my blindspot. After I let off I slowed to about 55 and that's when I clearly saw him fly by me at about 65-70. Not too long after our little "race" I saw him turn into a Subaru dealership. I'm sure he later told his Subaru buddies how he dusted a Typhoon lol
So I guess he stayed by me within a car-length. Fortunately for him I never actually had the pedal to the floor during the whole thing. I know it's not much of a kill, but it sure was fun. After I do some work on the Ty hopefully I will have more notable kills to present to you.
