nice vid.. super clean truck! nice to see a heavier truck w/ a V6 actually lay down a better number.
Why are these v8 swaps not running atleast low 10s? Figure 650hp for a turbo ls1 or v8 is a joke. no offense just curious? only true benefit vs a v6 is you can do it on pump gas vs 118 octane.

Not to mention that was my first time to the track with that motor and the first time back to a track for me in 3 years. I had driven it over 650 miles to get there and had to drive it home. It was like 105 degrees there too, and anything over 4psi on the launch and it would just spin.
Still my actual best run might have been a 10.9x if i didnt have to hit the brakes to keep from breaking out and losing the round (still went 11.21 on the brakes). My first time run was a 12.03 so I found .81 in 4 passes (of course by accident
). There is no doubt that both Jeffs truck and mine have 9 second capability with more work (tuning, more boost, better tires, chassis tuning).
+1 for Franks truck. Super clean and very good running truck. He should be very pleased with the way the truck performed Saturday. Not to mention that most trucks are good looking or fast, rarely both like Franks.
Only thing about the V6, no matter how fast it goes it still sounds a little too much like a tractor :rotf::rotf::rotf:

I drove the truck about 700 miles with one of the wastegates not fully attached, and flopping around on a flex pipe. I was busy chasing the sound, thinking it was torque convertor/flexplate related (sound was rattling through the downpipe at my feet).
So, making boost on 1 bank while bleeding boost on another bank, not quite an easy way to run fast. Also, my ls1 is completely stock...not built for boost like jeff/tom. I'd like mid-low 11s on this combo and to keep it together. It's more of a reliable than a fast combo.
Those that CAME to nats have a better understanding of what went on at the track :tup:
