Need advise from SyTy owners

I'll soon be coming into some extra funds in the next week or so. So here's my dilima. I want to sell my Ty and buy a full size truck. But my Ty is in need of a paint job so do I.

1. Paint it and expect to get a better price at time of sell.
2. Don't paint it and ask less for it.
3. Paint it and keep it. (which I'm thinkin would happen after I see it looking good)

Plus mechanically it in good shape and will be paid for in a year and a half. Which means waiting till then to buy a truck.

Thanks for your opinions.

I say paint it and keep it and get a new truck when the Ty is paid off.

I'd first ask why do you want a full size truck? Do you really Need it, or can you get the job done with the ty and the occasional use of a buddy's truck? I'd say if you don't need it, but rather just Want it, keep the ty after a repaint.

Re: Need advise from SyTy owners

Well since my divorce and remarriage I have not been able to keep it in a unweathered environment, therefore it depresses me to keep it under such conditions. My new wife and I now have horses and need a full size truck to pull the horse trailer. I really have mixed emotions about what to do. One day I want to keep it and then the next day sell it. I bought it with the intentions of fixing it up really nice and being proud of it. But as I have found from going to car shows or cruise ins most people have no clue what we own....aka "nice Blazer". My wife appreciates and loves "muscle cars" but just really doesn't get excited about the Ty. Material things are not as important to me like before when my previous marriage needed "stuff" to make me happy. Thankfully my wife is not gonna make a big deal if it is sold or kept. She just wants me to be content with my decision.

If it is Aspen Blue/Argent grey, sell it as is....to me. Any other color combo, go with option #3.

Option #3. You could always try to find an older full-size that would be able to do towing duties but not cost nearly as much as say a brand-new one or even one a few years old. They Ty is/will be a collector vehicle and something very unique. The people that see it as a 'nice-Blazer' just need to be informed or for even more fun, let them think whatever they like and you know the real deal.

keep it and sell the horses! Really #2 or #3.

Keep the Ty and the horse and get rid of your wife. Opt for #2.

Besides Jimmy's option...

I'd sell it as is. You'll never get your money back from the paint if you pay to get it done right.

Sell it as is. There will always be a better ty for sale in the future. If you look long enough. You will find a very good deal.

If you are having this hard of a time thinking about it, THEN YOU ARE NOT READY TO SELL.
Base on that I say #3

Has your wife ever driven the Ty? If she hasn't, let her as that will most likely change her mine. My wife was like OK on the Syclone until she drove it, now she likes it more than the GTO. And my daughter is taking her driving test in the Syclone as she said (It's more fun to drive).

1. I'll never get rid of my wife, horse maybe.
2. I have considered parting it out.
3. Yes, she's driven it, got on it, cut donuts and loved it.
4. Had a '80 Z28 t-top.....also regret selling it.

Thanks for the input. I'm probably gonna paint it and then try and sell. If it sells great if it don't oh well.
