A few years ago I owned a Typhoon for 8 months. Although I know a lot about other cars, I never got a chance to to work on a Typhoon. Now I own a '92 Bravada and would like it to match the performance of my old Typhoon. I need to know where to get the turbo and the other components to upgrade the Bravada so it matches the Typhoon's stock set-up. If you reply to this post, please be elaborate with your response. I appreciate all of your help. Thanks for reading this.

I bought most of my stuff off of this board and the rest from e-bay
as there are not too many Syclones or Typhoons in Canada

Don't be intimidated by the project...I did mine alone w/ hand tools and an engine hoist (rentable).

You can pick up a complete engine/turbo/wiring harness/ ECM off this list w/ a little patience for $2k or less...
Your bravada driveline is fine unless you are planning to drag race it...

DO get the manuals for your truck and the year truck your engine comes from. The syty manual is available in CD form from one of the guys on this list...check vendors area.

If you elect to convert your original engine, you will have to start w/ the block and heads and purchase everything else aftermarket $$$$$$$$$$

My philosophy is 'let the engineers do the engineering - I'll just duplicate it'

this type of philosophy is why so many syclones are slow.....

numerous guys on here are running in the 12's w/ stock engines, good tuning, and 3 bar map & chip...If you would like to improve on your 13 1/2 sec ET, you might look at the "12 sec recipe" on this site...

While my views _are_ my opinion, I certainly did not form them in a vacuum...

i think the people running 12's on stock motors with 3 bar chips as their most extensive mod are few and far between. the only people who are running fast are the ones who are willing to try something different the gm engineers layed out.
