Need help with gasket-

I've got several potential gaskets for this & not sure which is correct. This one here seems to be right, but the small bump on the side, doesn't jive. Do I just need to trim?

Is this your bush?
Re: Need help with gasket-

If that is the oil cooler housing that goes to the block delete that garbage and make oil changes clean and a breeze to do. Best thing I've done in a while for my Ty!

I've considered that. What's the downside though?

Re: Need help with gasket-

None really, maybe a slight change in oil temps but it's minimal at best. Your oil change is now 4 quarts also. :)

Stab it and steer it
Re: Need help with gasket-

I think the "bump" is meaningless. Stick it up on the block, if it fits fine use it. If want trim it slightly but I'd just assemble the thing. The O-ring is what stops any leakage, Hopefully. All the gasket does is keep filtered oil and unfiltered oil separate. Note: lube the o-ring before the install and DON'T use any sealer in the gasket. Chances of getting some into the motor are to great and there's nothing to gain.

I would suspect that the "bump" is there to hold the gasket up in the block when you assemble the housing onto the block.
