I found a high mile typhoon that I want to install a LS1 in. is it possible? the 700r4 should mount right up.

I have installed v8's in a few s10's.

is there a problem with the front diff. and oil pan?

any links to sites? pics? info?

I'll be the first to say:
http://www.s10wildside.com/

Do what he did and start with a regular s10 please!

The 4.3L Turbo can build plenty of power even with high miles; some 120k+ mile Tys still run in the 13s with no rebuilds or upgrades in their past.

Don't sacrifice a rolling chassis just because it has high miles. Find a Ty that's been totalled or had fire damage, or something else.

old post but.... oh well..

I'm almost positive the bolt pattern is different between an LS1 and the 4.3, which would mean the 700r4 can't bolt up.

I want to stick an LS1/T56 in my Camaro and I know I can't use a 93-97 6 speed behind the LS1 because it won't bolt up.

I also believe there is someone reproducing the SyTy cadding in Fiberglass, so it'd be cheaper for you to buy a 4X4 or two wheel drive Blazer or Jimmy, plus you wouldn't get flamed for ruining a perfectly good Ty :)

I say do it. A high mileage Ty with an LS1 is worth just as much as a high miler with a V6.

Check www.turbols6.com - a lot of good info from a fellow board member. It hasn't been easy this far.

If you aren't going turbo. I'd say pull the T-56 out of the Camaro - use the Camaro ECM.

ZR 2 with LZ 1

ZR 2 with LZ 1

hi there,

go to the ZR 2 site. there is a guy named mike who has a conversion with a LZ 1.

he is a fountain of information

oil pan has to be welded; use a camero mechanical throttle instead of a vette electronic throttle.

plus many more issues.
