Need Ostrich/set up help

Heres what I have.

Ostrich
WB02 (LC-1 with XD-16 gauge)-want to run this in place of stock o2
GP1 package (GI adapter and two chips)
ALDL cable
Tuner Pro RT
Datamaster
One stock chip
One ATR chip (2 bar supposedly set up for 40# injectors)
40 # injectors ( supposedly )
And then I have an Ultimate chip that DIG has that I have no idea when I will get back.

My questions:
1. On the G1, what goes on the male pins? Im assuming its a chip, one of the stock ones maybe?
2. Do you ahve to put anythign on there?
3. With everything I have, does it look like I need something else or do I have everything I need at this point?
4. Am I right in saying that the chip that comes with the G1 will become my new CHIP period or do I still need another stock one as a piggy bacl type set up?
5. If the chip I got in the GP1 does infact become my new chip, is the Ostrich capable of putting the data on to it?
6. Am I also right that I need to upload a BIN (program?) onto one of these chips or into the Ostrich before I can do anything?
7. Where does one get a 40# BIN?
8. Can I use whatevdr is in that ATR chip as a 40# BIN?
9. If I did do that and it were possible, can I then recal the BIN to use a 3BAR MAP?

Sorry about all the questrions. I just want to make sure I dont screw anty of this up and that I have a good understanding of what it is I am doing. I appreciate any help any of you tuning gods can give me. TIA

Mike

You need to piggyback the stock memcal(chip). This is the best pic I could find easily...

Thats a G3 adapter, and the blue cover is taken off the stock memcal, but you just need to make sure you don't flip the stock chip over because it can plug in either way. One half of the stock memcal is a chip and the other half is the gel coated(knock circuitry). You want to put the pins of the GP1 into the gel coated side, because your not using the chip side of the stock memcal anymore since your creating a new one.
2. Do you ahve to put anythign on there?
If your talking about the pins on the G1, yes ...see above.
3. With everything I have, does it look like I need something else or do I have everything I need at this point?
You have just about everything, unless you want to burn chips, then get this:
http://www.detroitturbo.com/cart/product_info.php?cPath=235_114_111_116_30_145_182&products_id=261
4. Am I right in saying that the chip that comes with the G1 will become my new CHIP period or do I still need another stock one as a piggy bacl type set up?
The chip that comes with the GP1 can hold bins that you create with the Ostrich, but you need a burner to put them on the chip.
5. If the chip I got in the GP1 does infact become my new chip, is the Ostrich capable of putting the data on to it?
No, the Ostrich is not a burner. The Ostrich can create bin files and act as a chip all the time so you don't need to burn one, but its personal preference. I would rather use the Ostrich to make changes to the bin and then once I'm happy for awhile burn it to a chip. You can also burn chips for others after you tune the truck with Ostrich.
6. Am I also right that I need to upload a BIN (program?) onto one of these chips or into the Ostrich before I can do anything?
Yes, that is correct.
7. Where does one get a 40# BIN?
Someone can probably email you one.
8. Can I use whatevdr is in that ATR chip as a 40# BIN?
You will need something that can read that chip, like a burner to get the bin from it. Without a burner, I don't believe you would be able to get the bin file from it. I believe the ATR chips were all burned to stock memcals, or in other words you can't just take the eprom(chip) out like you can with the moates. So if you get a burner, you will need to get an adapter like this one..

and then with that adapter in the burner, you'd put the ATR chip on the top pins to get the bin.

9. If I did do that and it were possible, can I then recal the BIN to use a 3BAR MAP?

No, you'll want to start with a 3 bar bin, and it sounds like Dig is working with you. If he has a 3bar 40lb cal , then you will be good to go. I'm not sure if you already have the 40's on your truck or if your thinking about using them because you have an ATR 40lb chip. I can't recall if Dig had 40lb cals, because I could be mistaking that for 42.5lb (009's) that I know he has done stuff with. Either way, use an injector that someone can give you an existing 3 bar cal for to start with....50's are the most common. Then you can disregard getting that adapter in your question #8 about reading the chip.

Once you get your wideband setup and get used to using the equipment, you'll find that it takes a lot of patience and research to learn what to change and why. If you haven't read this tech article, I would suggest it....
