im gettin used to my new truck now and tryd a launch last night...held the brake and rev'd it to adout 5 -7 psi and let it rip...WOW-but i have a question...i got some tire noise in the rear,no smoke or anything, and it was very breif....is that normal?? i figured with awd it would just hook up and go-agian,iv never had an awd and was just wondering if some tire slippage is normal???

T

Prolly normal.. The torque isnt split 50/50 front and rear so the rears can actually spin a little (a small "chirp" or "bark" from the rear tires is 100% normal). However, if the rears are lighting up like a top fuel car in the water box then there is more than likely something wrong with the xfer case.

This is just my observation. When I launch my Ty hard it always spins the front tire. On my Sy, a launch with too much boost for road conditions, the rear gets a little squirly or it spins front and rear tires. Because of the weight distribution and shorter wheel base, a Ty usually noticably spins the front tire on good launch. I beleive this is inevitable. On a good launch my Sy doesn't spin the front like my Ty.

cant say i noticed any slipage in the frt....but the rear dose get alittle squirrley for a second before it hooks up...especially today in the rain.

this may be a dumb question,but...
i had a problem with my upper rad.hose over the weekend...the upper wasent in the tab on the fan shroud and the alt. opened it up,aside from a big geen puddle,it dident run hot at all...and it only took less than a gallon to top it off after replacin the hose...but it was a huge puddle and it was EVERYWERE under the hood...
i know the engine coolant and the i/c coolant systems are seperate-BUT..when i checked the i/c system the i/c tank was low about 1/2 gallon on anti freeze (no light)...since they share the same overflow tank,is it possible the radiator stole coolant from the i/c system through the overflow tank(that ties the 2 systems together)??? the i/c was full last week, and then it was low after the hose repair.and i cant find any other leaks....is that possible or am i crackin up...

Have you had to filled the IC before? The IC only holds a little over 1/2 gallon of fluid, so if it need a 1/2 gallon it was pretty much empty. I supose the IC fluid be sucked out but my guess is not all of it would be sucked out. The low IC light doesn;t work, the light was wired incorrectly from the factory.

well...thats good to know,is there a way to correctly wire it?
the typhoon supplimental manual with the regular one says the i/c holds 4 quarts (1 gallon) is that wrong? and it took just under 1/2 gallon to fill...
when i bought the truck i drove it from long island,ny to boston soo i check all the fluids and they were all at spec.. i guess the system could have APPEARED full at that time depending on the cycle of the pump at that point (???)
or not....

I never looked into wiring up the low coolant sensor. I could be wrong about the capacity. If it looked full when you bought it, it was probably full. When IC fluid is significantly low, the pump sucks air and can't pump the top resevoir full.

that makes sense...soo i guess since there are no leaks in the i/c system, the radiator stole the coolant via the overflow tank??? iv been right on top of it and have had no fluid loss since the repair, soo i guess its fixed...
thanx for the imput,man...its cool to have a place to ask/talk to peeps who know there shyt...the dealers dont have a clue for the most part.
thanx agian
