Hello everybody,
I am not the owner of a Syclone, but the owner of a black 04 SRT-10. My dad however is the owner of a Syclone. It is what inspired me to purchase my truck. The engineering that has gone into both vehicles is immense(unlike the Lightning.) Growing up I always remember my dad washing and waxing his truck on the weekends(I am only 22.) Currently his Syclone is down however. He blew a rod, and it made a hole in the block(it still starts though LOL.) He is the original owner, and followed a shipping truck all the way to a dealership to purchase his. He couldn't find one anywhere at the time. His truck has been down for a few years, and I have motivated him to begin rebuilding it. I'm not hear to talk crap to any of you. I respect your trucks more than any vehicle around. I will post pics of my truck soon. I have it parked in our shop an hour away because we are under a hurricane right now. I look forward to learning a lot from you all, and getting my dads dream vehicle back on the road.

Here are some pictures of my truck taken today. I hope you all like them. I'll get some pictures of my dads Syclone here soon. It's at our shop now. It is looking pretty rough now. It will need new paint when its finished. I'm just glad he's going to get it running again.

Nice truck, those things are pretty quick. I raced one about a year ago and was surprised how well they move.

Will a regular 4.3 Vortec block work? We have a regular 4.3 Vortec engine right now. I know the intake manifold requires modification to work. I think he just wants to build a bullet proof engine that will last forever. Maybe with a little extra performance over stock.

Not 100% sure but i believe the compression ratio is lower on a sy/ty then others due to the turbo. Mabe someone can confirm this?

The block should work your just going to have to forge it to take the abuse I know harmon bought a syclone that had a vortec block with forged internals

You just have to buy the right set of pistons to give you the compression you need for the boost

Re: New member in Fayetteville, NC

Yeah, I know the bottom end is different since its forced induction. I guess my question is the block identical to the Syclone block? Also, is sytyperformance a reputable vendor? Are there any others?

Havent dealt with syty performance but since they are a vendor im sure they are pretty reputable.

Look in the vendor section. If they are a vendor on here they are generally accepted to sell good products.
