Greetings. New member for the forums from Hawaii Been lurking for a bit researching my build, now that I got an engine, hope to capitalize on the input. Looking to swap out my old worn out 4.3 in my 86 El Camino for a new to me 4.3 Syclone motor. Have the engine and components, couple ECUs, and most of the hardware. Doing a light tear down to clean out any residue, check for damage, and install some fresh gaskets.

Welcome!

Sounds like an interesting project. Looks like the Elky is the right color.

Looking forward to news as it progresses. :popcorn2:

Thanks, My Elky is 2-tone, silver on the bottom. Should be interesting. I have a pretty hard set deadline of May.

I'm sure I'll be in touch. PM me your #. In the process of getting new head gaskets and miscellaneous sensors. I broke a couple parts stripping it down, but figured I'd have to replace them anyway. One challenge I know for sure is getting the right throttle cable since the orientation of the throttle bodies are different. There was a guy on here that's done this down in GA, so I've got some of his photos to look at.

I recall seeing Buick 3.8 turbo powered Elco's way back when.
But never a Sy/Ty powered one.

Congrats and best of luck on what could be one fun ride!
