this is after I modified it to work with the pcv system.

this is it mounted up.

Here is a link to all the pics I have so far...They show the machining and what not. The rest of the pics will come when the truck is back together. I went to 2 different auto parts stores and they were both out of 3/8 vac line for the pcv valves. I gave up. lol

UPDATE - Re: new oil separator for pcv

Well the install has been completed and working great. Here are the remaining highlights:

The 3/4 hose feeds the separator from the valve cover

the 2 PCV valves installed in the top of the oil separator. Hi temp RTV was used for lack of a rubber grommet that would work in the space constraints. The supplied in/out fittings were simply blocked off with a hose. Later on I may do something different here but you can't even see the thing with the crossover tube installed.

this is the intake (vacuum) PCV hose with crossover tube installed.

Thats it! once again a link to all the pics

Re: new oil separator for pcv

whats the point of leaving the 2 ports up top if you just have them connected (w/ a pinched off hose).

Why not just remove those and plug the holes so it looks cleaner?

I saw one like it but half the size at a GN only show last year. Thought the idea was cool. Never got around to doing anything plus my Typhoon doesn't have much room left to put any more stuff.

All N All, pretty neet idea.

That was the original plan, but when I saw how they are put in it was going to take more time then I had. On top of the can there are 4 holes, 2 for the screws for the aluminum fittings, and 2 for the air. I will most likely tap them with 1/8NPT threads and plug them, or make some kind of plate to cover it, but I had to get the truck off my parent's driveway. Then after I installed it I realized you can hardly see it so I forgot about it. :D

Thanks guys. Total cost was around 35 bucks with all the hoses.
does it have a drain plug to pull the oil out when it builds up..etc

Re: new oil separator for pcv

what is the main function of this setup? Is it for keeping the oil from the pvc from going into the intake?

Re: new oil separator for pcv

i made mine. cost was nothing but it took me about 3 hours. if i knew about this i would have been ALL OVER that shit. a year ago the only option i could find was a $100 + greddy can and i think this one even looks better. if it wasn't against the law i would buy a bunch of 'em put greddy stickers on the side and resell them to rice burning morons for 2 hunny.
