New Sheet Metal

Try Me

Hey guys,
I will soon have the money and want to get a new set of front fenders and some rear patch panels for our Typhoon.

Where have you had good luck, quality, and price on new sheet metal?

Ive checked out lmc truck and they have quarter panel lower patch panels for 19.95 but the catalog for some reason only shows left side.

They also have rocker panels. Im sure there are other suppliers...

Thanks!

I don't know about patch panels but go with OEM Gm fenders only. Do not go aftermarket. Take you time and find some nice used ones. Aftermarket fenders rarely line up and look 100%, IMO.

Re: New Sheet Metal

The OEM fenders dropped in price quite a bit a few years ago. I bought mine when I first started taking it apart some 6+ years ago, and paid a bit over $400/ea, and that was going through my work and getting 25% off of list price. They were discontinued by GM and some outside company bought out the remaining inventory, I imagine for pennys on the dollar, and dropped the price. I think the price now is in the mid $200s. I would definately go with OEM on the fenders though.

My GoodSy has a LMC hood. It's a POS. It's too wide, and has an arc across the rear that is 3/4" higher in the middle than the cowl. I tried bending it down by standing on the back edge of it, with some success, but that just spread the hood hinges outboard so they rub and squeak when you open the hood.

From following peeps on here, I'm not the first to be disappointed by LMC [lack of] quality.
