New to me Ty not running....

recently picked up and new to me Ty that had been sitting for a few yrs due to a blown trans... previous owner installed a new trans before pickup, and was running when I got there to pick it up, Idling ok, but didn't want to take any load . dropped it off at a buddy's shop for a "presafety" and didn't want to start for me to unload it, as the battery was bad and died after only a few cranks.... the shop I guess had it fire up for them after a good battery charge, but they thought it was running very rich..... when I went to pick it back up, it wouldn't start again, and hasn't started since, just cranks....

started doing some looking and checking and found a few things, a vacuum T in the MAP sensor line that isn't connected to anything.... assume from a boost gauge in the past... plugging it did not allow it to start either.... pulled cap and rotor for inspection and they weren't horrible, but I'm a mercury marine dealer and we use v6 delco igntions on some 4.3L so I have a cap and rotor for it as well that'll be going on tomorrow, and I stock UR6 plugs too, so I'll throw a set of them in too.... about a week ago I ordered a plug wire set, a vacuum line kit and a boost gauge fitting from sport machines, so I'm waiting on them to arrive to do the full vac line kit and wires combined with the new cap/rotor/plugs and then we'll see if she will fire up.... but during my inspecting today, I popped the MAP sensor out, and found part number 12223861 marked on it.... I did a google search on that number and it looks like it should be a 3 bar sensor.... any advice at this point? I'd assume if it has a 3 bar sensor, it MUST run some kind of aftermarket chip? so I guess I should access the EPROM and take a look?? if it's an aftermarket chip how would one tell? probably printed on label?? Not really sure what kind of collection of parts are on the old girl, and what's been removed.... right now I'm just trying to make it run somewhat like it should, then plan on playing from there..... I have already got a scanmaster G, PLX wideband, and glowshift boost gauge for it, and plan on turbotweak chip etc etc, but figure trying to make it run reasonably well and know all the existing parts are "playing well" with each other is probably the best plan first, and try and identify any existing modifications.... is there any easy visual way to identify whether the installed injectors are stock or oversize as well??

thanks!

if it has a 3bar it most certainly has a aftermarket chip. Almost sounds like the Tune is off. Did you check the fuel pressure? should be 43psi with the key turned forward. You might not be getting fuel. I had a bad Fuel pump that would work for 4 mins every day then die.

The rear vacuum port off the manifold has a T connects to the Fuel pressure regulator and MAP sensor. Since you found one problem with them, you want to get the all vacuum lines sorted out.

I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of my plug wire set and vacuum line kit from Sportmachines to dig in farther.... Today I had a few minutes to take a little further look.... I figured I'd pump the fuel tank so I could know that I'm starting fresh as far as fuel was concerned and ended up only getting about 4 litres (1gal) from the tank, even though the fuel gauge was reading just under 1/4 tank... the then I figured that shit, was probably just out of fuel and that's why it wasn't starting... added 5 gal of fresh hi-test fuel, then installed the new cap and rotor I had, then I plugged the "T" in the map/FPR vacuum line that wasn't going any where, and then assumed she should fire up once again..... but nope.... but that was all the time I had for today... I did pop the ECU out and took a look, and found that there is a Moates memory adapter and chip installed, so I'd have to assume the chip should be ok with the 3 bar MAP that is installed... a quick visual shows the top half of the injectors is red, but couldn't see a part no, would stock injectors be red top??? as well, I see that the EGR solenoid is still plugged in but has no vacuum lines attached, so I guess the EGR is disabled as well.... I guess next step will be spark tester and fuel pressure check and figure out which one of the components I'm lacking... spark or fuel.....
