Well pulling into work today I see a silver WRX pulling in and can just make out the top of the guys head with the window being down 1/3 way. It was bald
. So I figured it may be a guy on my floor of the building. After getting up there 30 minutes later I run into the guy I am thinking it is and ask him if he has a WRX, he replies with a smile and a oohhh yeahhhh, so after I give him that niiiiiceeee and yes head shake to stroke his ego a little I ask him if its quick off the line like I hear those AWD cars are and of course he says "its damn quick" nodding his head and smiling. Soooo, being a normal sy owner like we all are I ask him if he races, of course he says " sometimes.....if I think its going to be a good race..." so I ask him if he would like to line up after work so I can get a comparison between my ride and his. He said sure and ask what kind of car I have, well....I said..actually I have a truck... He said, what ???? I said yeah its a black S10. He said have you done anything to it?
I said I have done enough to my v6 that I think it is fast. Right then and there he ask me which way I was going when I leave work and we agread on the same direction. Well I couldn't wait till the end of work today, man it was tuff, I just kept smiling for no reason through out the day. Its a nice thing ! ! ! ! Anyway, after work I went and met him pulling out of the lot. Its like 65 degrees here and the roads were wet from the rain earlier. I pulled out behind him and had to go about 5-6 lights before getting to one we could both hit together. Well I was in the right lane and knew I was going to drift to the right if I launched with to much boost on wet pavement. I sat there and looked over at him and he was smiling at me shaking his head and laughing as he put up his passenger side window.
I boosted up at the last second and only had to hold it there (5 psi) for about 2 seconds before the light turned. WOW, The truck jumped forward like it was on dry pavement to an instant, i can see him in my rear view mirror, length. NICE, Now I would have given anything in the world to see the look on his face at that very moment. I kept my foot in it till he was over 300-400 feet back there.
I pulled over to the side of the road and rolled down the window, All I got as he pulled up with the passenger side window down was, I'll talk with you at work tomorrow...
I wonder what he is going to say tomorrow? He will either say something went wrong with his car like a missed shift or he will simply swallow his pride and say something like, That is a sick a$$ truck... Anyway, Just thought I would share.
I am heading down to beach bend raceway this weekend to get some times and do a little more tuning on the Sy. I am hoping for mid 11's. We will see.
