I am new to the SyTy world and need a little help with my engine. WHen tying to get somewhere quicker than usual, the engine seems to act like it is governing at 3200-3700 rpms, will not go any higher. Another poblem is it does not idle correct after the engine is warm, it has a lobe effect. I stopped at an auto parts store to use there code checker and the results were, wastegate overboose and O2 sensor to rich. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
Mark

I would start by checking the vacuum hoses at the turbo and throughout the rest of the truck. Sounds like a vac leak to me. They could even be on the wrong way. Check the wiring to the boost solenoid and make sure they are ok. Next, I would do a full tune up. PM me if you need any details. I would also check and see if you have a cat. Any mods done? Give more details on the truck.

Post what area you are located in; there are a lot of people on this board that meet up regularly and help eachother out.

I am located in western Iowa.

The Truck has no mods, totally stock with around 100,000 miles. A tune up has been made, spark plugs, wires, cap and roter. The tune up was per the recommandations of others here on the board. I do have a cat. I would prefer to cut it out and get an aftermarket wastegate. any suggestions. I will check vac lines tonight. I know there is not a kit but does anyone have a list of vac items to get from the parts store?

Update

Update

I found the rubber piece between the IC and the intake was leaking on the intake side. I tightened the hose clamps up as much as possible and still have that leak. Could a person lube the inner rubber surface to create a good seal?

Check underneath your IC to see if the IC brackets are in place. There are 3 of them, and if they are missing or loose, you will continue to have this problem.

The bolts are there. I also noticed when I was feeling around below this rubber adapter for the IC to Intake I bumped one of the vac lines (one that hooks up right below the intake) and it it tore the rubber in half, I barely touched it. It looks pretty bad, I am guessing the factory vac lines are still in tact. I asked before but does anyone have a parts list of vac items needed?

Woudl the problem of not being able to go over 3200 rpm be vac related?

Thanks

Yes that can cause that. If you wnat to replace your lines there is a guy on here who sells kits. Not sure what his name is though. I just made my own as I went along.
