NO Fuel Pressure

I was Driving my truck, stopped at the store . When I tried to re-start my truck it barely wanted to run. It will idle but as soon as I touch the accelerator it dies out. I looked at my F.P. Gauge and it read 0-5 psi. I have a Billet adjustable regulator when I turn up pressure on the regulator the gauge doesn't respond still 0-5 psi. I removed the fuel line before the fuel filter and the pump is pumping I can even hear it when I turn the key.Enough fuel is getting to the fuel rail to idle but not to drive. Thanks for anyone response to this matter you would be a great help. :(

I just replaced fuel filter when I disconnected it today to see if the pump was pumping. Pump is pumping fuel through line for sure but when I put new filter in same problem. truck will idle but no press.

Pull the vaccum line off the fuel pressure regulator and see if there is any gas in it. The diaphragm may have ruptured and doesn't "partially block off" the return line like it is supposed to in order to build up fuel pressure. If that is OK then go to the next step.
If you still have your original fuel lines, take a rag and a pair of channel locks and block off the soft return line(fuel pressure regulator is on the return line, just follow it until you find soft hose). If pressure still does not build up, the fuel pump is fubar.

Sounds like your FP is shot. If the diaphram in the FPR goes it will flood the engine by the vaccuum line going to the plentum. Trust me I know that, I put a new FP in and the stock reg diaphram blew and hyro locked the engine. Now I did have the FP hotwired to the ignition, with a relay, so when I turned the key on the FP turned on, I was just listening to the FP to make sure it was running and I didn't realize the FPR diaphram was blown and it just flooded the engine.

Hey, this is a copy of the email I sent you in case you see this first.

They are not known for it so to speak but any fuel pump can be bad. You
pitched the pulsator and used the short piece of rubber fuel hose that came
in the kit right? Make sure you are getting a full 12 volts back to the
pump. Was it a new pump? Once a pump has been used and put on a shelf,
varnish will form and sometimes they just don't work properly ever again.
Most folks don't know that. My Ty had a used Sy pump in it when I bought it.
Had to swap it out to eliminate the knock and poor idle I had.
Take care,
Blake

As far as the pump filling the engine to the point of hydrolock, that's wild
Stock, they just run for 2 seconds and then kick off untill you turn it over and hold it for the start sequence. Your experience is reason enough not to do that. Glad you found out what was wrong with it anyway. Good deal in the end I guess.

Yeah, I didn't know what to think when it happened. I have always had the FP hotwired to the back of the alt with a relay and 8 gauge wire, I know its probably overkill but I never have blown the ECM B fuse :D . I just wanted to make sure that the FP always has enough voltage and amperage.
Anyway, after I installed the new FP from Ron I turned the key on to make sure that it was running, listened to it for a little bit, thinking wow this sucker is pumping some serious volume and pressure. Well, that's when the regulator blew I guess, so while I was there listening to it the vac line to the reg was just pouring gas in the plentum, filling up any cylinders that had a intake valve partially open. Then when I tried to start the truck WHAM, hydro lock! Didn't know what to think at first, then I pulled the plugs and turned the motor over.
Kids dont try this at home :D had the fender wells out and gas shot out the spark plug holes all over the garage. BTW I did have to change the oil.
