Re: nos and alky

When properly tuned, N2O should net a turbo'd engine faster spool, more power, and additional intercooling of the intake charge. In effect, you shouldn't need to spray alky/meth while spraying N2O as the N2O itself is an excellent cooling resource, and doing so could do a disservice in the sense that your allowing something (alky/meth) to occupy space in the combustion chamber that is not providing an efficient benefit to combustion.

Note that the operative part of all that is "when properly tuned"....which with anything other than direct port (or a plenum plate) is difficult (nearly impossible) to achieve with the SyTy manifold and a wet kit.

From what I remember also from others that have used NOS, is that when you spray say a 30 HP fogger nozzle, the actual HP increase is always higher, like 50-60 HP.

Sorry I did not answer your Q, just some other info about NOS.

Re: nos and alky

If you already have an alcohol injection kit installed and wish to add nitrous oxide , the alcohol would only serve as a backup fuel enrichment say your fuel pump could not handle the top end demand . As mentioned the originally intended cooling effects are taken away and from what experience I have with installing/using nitrous oxide , fuel pump demands are what lead to most failures . The term "safety net" I use sparingly although on paper the benefit of using both can be successfully debated . I would not use them myself unless one was independent of the other . Tuning a progressive alky kit and a non-progressive nitrous kit would be difficult without extensive testing . I've seen some nasty blown motors from misuse and even a few complete front clip burns . It can be done if you spend the coin and do I properly , cost in the longrun really negates it as a viable option IMO . You could achieve more permanent gains that don't need to be refilled ,temperature controlled , etc for less money .

Re: nos and alky

I was given a kit to race that guy with. I went to the speed shop to get a bottle but he didn't have any. So, after lots of thought I figure, if I can't beat him with out it who cares. But this whole thing has motivated me to make up my mind that I want a bigger turbo. I am also going to try out e85. Hell, I spent $2500 on my fuel system so that I could run it, may as well give it a shot.

Just some advice if you have a alky kit installed you can just
use a 5 pin relay to deactivated the alky injection when the nitrous
is activated this way you cannot trigger both !!!

My Sy is set up with a 3 stage system but only use the 1 stage
for turbo spool up
