Not getting all my boost

I am running a Greddy Type R BOV to my stock turbo with my stock engine in my Ty and on a good day I can mabe get up to 10psi at WOT on my autometer guage. I checked my vacuum lines, and they hold consistant pressure all the way to the BOV. It usually stays at about 7psi on an avarage day at WOT. I was hoping to get some ideas about what the problem might be. Robbie

it could be lots of things. When did the problem start? Right after you installed the bov? Where do you have the guage vac line run to? How are you controlling boost - with the stock boost solenoid?

We need to know a little more to diagnose.

I am trying to find out why I am not getting my 15 psi on my stock setting for my Ultimate Chip.

The problem started when I put on the BOV, #8 Ultimate chip, Walboro fuel pump and billet fuel pressure regulator.

The Boost guage runs directly into the upper plethium, just like on the syty.com site.

I guess I am controlling boost with the stock boost solenoid. The only other thing that controls boost is the adjustable chip that can vary the boost from 15 to 22 psi

What does the stock boost gauge read? Is this a 3bar chip? If so...did you install a 3bar map?

I try not to look at the stock guage because I was told that it can be very inaccurate.
I purchased a #8 Ultimate chip and 3 Bar map sensor from Race proven motorsports. The chip is a 3 bar chip and I have installed the the piggy back unit with my stock chip connected just like the instructions say.

It sounds like your getting base boost only. check the vacuum lines around the boost solenoid (bolted onto the trubo). There should be one going from the solenoid to the wastegate, and one to the turbo. Check for cracks, and make sure everything is connected.

also check for vaccuum leaks around the throttle body and or gasket between the upper intake. a small leak there will bleed off boost very quickly. more than one person had this and had to get tb's rebuilt or new.

the first thing to do would be to hook up a bicycle hose to the turbo side of the IC pipe. Pressurize it and see where it is leaking. If you dont see any leaks and your boost gauge is reading 20psi, then you have an issue with either your wg rod adjustment or your wg selenoid/vacuum lines from the compressor housing to selenoid to actuator. You may also want to check and make sure you hooked the lines up to the corresponding plugs on the wg selenoid if you touched it. If you unplug the wg selenoid you should make 8-10psi. If you unplug the hose from the wg actuator you should make lots of boost.(be careful when trying this, and be ready to let off)

if you have any other questions you can reach me at mike@raceprovenmotors.com

thanks

Thanks for the help guys, I have replaced the vac lines on the turbo and that helped a lot. I am now boosting between 10 and 12psi consistantly. I am planning to do the rest of the suggestions as well to make sure everything else is working correctly. Thanks again guys.

if you changed the turbo, also make sure your wg rod is now properly adjusted. MIght need a few turns in, if nothing else is leaking.
