I am under the truck right now
I am replacing the gasket that connects the remote oil line to the block.
My question.
Is there only 1 gasket OR is there 2?
Help!

1 gasket. and 1 o-ring

you use the 3/4 circle gasket with the 2 bolt holes. Make sure the flat spot is on the correct side. The o-ring should be pushed into the remote head

I was reading about it... I think that is the way to go. I am going to call a few dealers and see if they have the adaptor

It was like $12 bucks , sawzall the lines in half and pull that poop out! Clean up oil , connect adapter and it will use a filter that fits on 3.8l ! Then whablam easy peasy oil changes with out the fender getting oily! No more oil on the driveway either , my truck is spotless underneath it!

Re: oil help needed ASAP!

Well,
I ordered the fitting and a GM gasket set. I will try the gasket set first. If that fails, than I will go on the block.
I am going to try the gasket from a oil filter first.

So, after clearing my head, I went out to look at that O-ring gasket. It turns out that I ws off slightly, re alligned it, and now it works! No leaks.
However, I will be doing an on-the block relocation this winter. I will be pcking up the GM part as indicated in that thread. I also have about 5 filters that will fit (from my old s10 that I never used!)
