Oil Pressure gauge problems

Re: Oil Pressure gauge problems

the needle flipped around? very common problem.

you can pull the cluster and lift the needle over the pin to reset it. Unfortunately its likely to happen again at some point, in which you will need to once again pull it apart and lift it over the pin.

I think someone on here added another pin on the opposite side from a parts cluster, but that was years ago that I saw it.

You can take apart the gauge and install your own pin/ black nails and glue them down to the cluster face ,another member on here did it , there's a thread

Another option is just remove the bottom peg. The needle won't be trapped if there's nothing blocking it.

If the oil pressure guage is jumping, the oil pressure sending unit is probably bad.

Re: Oil Pressure gauge problems

When mine/oil pressure sensor went bad it was all over the place! Look at my thread on oil pressure switch if yours has never been done you can't use an oil pressure switch socket cause its like a 1 1/4 inch wrench and you have to remove the distributor to get on it with a wrench.Look into my thread it shows my switch it was an all metal body , never have I seen one like it in all my years. Just look at my post by my user name in search and you will find it.
