what kind of oil pressure are you guys running? lets say when

cold at startup for me its 80 at idle

when she's all warmed up 60 at idle

and after several hard pulls 40-50 not when pulling.. but after the pulls then at idle

sounds about good to me, the only thing you needs to watch good that the oilpressure doesn't drop underload.

Re: oil pressure

Using the stock guage, those numbers look like what I get with a 'high volume' pump, and 30W oil, now that everything is OK in the bearings again.

Beware of hot idle readings in the 1/4 or less range. On my 92 the pressure was 9 lbs on a master gauge at the oil filter. The bearings and crank were badly worn.

somehow i think an aftermarket oilpress. gauge is a cheap insurance, the stock gauge sux as bad as the stock boost gauge. 80psi = 55psi etc.

Re: oil pressure

you just answered my question. I guess with the 80E I don't need a tranny temp gauge so will prob get an oil press gauge with a warning light in it.

Re: oil pressure

a good oil press gauge is a solid investment. you really need to keeps tabs on the vitals. stock gauges in HP cars/trucks are always a crap shoot.
