Open throttle power loss....

I have plenty of fuel and new fuel filter but when I go full-throttle, it cuts off like its governed i.e., goes back down to idle speed. When I let off the gas just a little, like maby 1/4 back, it kicks back in and tries to haul as*again. If this has been posted before, just say, "Jeremy you dumb as*, you've been here long enough, your owned!" Thanks... :wink:

sounds like overboost fuel cut.. check engine light coming on when this happens?

just for kicks make sure the driver side motor mount is not broke and lifting the block under wot .(faster at part throttle thread comes to mind)

Yes, the Check Engine light comes on. I forgot to throw that in there. So.... How do I "cure" the overboost problem?

Check for any vacuum leaks that can cause overboost. Check the two lines that run to and from the wastegate selanoid. Do you hear it pinging or makin any weird noise? If you do you better lay off it until you get this figured out or you'll be doin a rebuild pretty soon.

do you have a cat? if your running open exhaust you might be haveing an overboost prob. Get a scan tool.
