Orange Ty in Mo

Saw this on an S10 forum, wasn't sure where to post over here.

Didn't ask much about it, was truck shopping with my old man. It was hotter than hell outside. The dealer wants 8500$ in Independence MO.

Anyone close by know anything about it? Or care to go investigate? I'll be keeping my eyes on the thread for more info.

Hittin switches!

Or is the suspension just jacked?

or is it just sitting at a weird angle?

Re: Orange Ty in Mo

93 no. 0854 (1GDCT18Z1P0810854) ; I would recognize those ugly POS wheels anywhere. It has a junk title from TX. It was rear ended.

This truck sat at a small car lot a mile from my house from the fall of 2002 to maybe the summer of 2004.

The owner of the car lot also had a black 93 (0930) that he had fixed up after a rollover. The dealers brother was a mechanic and they also had a service garage at this place.

They bought the orange Ty and installed some white cladding pieces, a black rear bumper cover and the truck supposedly had a bigger turbo installed (I doubt the truck was retuned). In 2003 the asking price for this truck with lousy paint mismatched cladding, ugly wheels, and a junk title was either $12,000 or $14,000.

At one point in time there was a white 93 shell (the source of the white cladding) next to the dealers office and sadly I never checked the truck for a VIN and the dealer moved 4 or 5 years ago.

Re: Orange Ty in Mo

The color on that pic is messed up. the truck is actually a red/red. TONS of bondo on the roof, and is very rough. and the owner is very hard to deal with. been in the exact same spot for like 2 years i know of. maybe more. the truck is on a weird incline, that is why the suspension looks jacked up

So you are saying it looks more like this:

I actually remember it looking more orange than red, like red orange. Keep in mind it's not the original paint. If you look closely at the cladding on the driver door you'll notice that logo is not an OEM decal; it's a white paint logo. I remember the driver's front arch looking like a dull faded shade of orange.

Regardless the paint and body are horrid and would require $1000s to improve it

Old thread that mentions this Ty:

Re: Orange Ty in Mo

yep. like power cat said, kinda beat. the paint looks to be a crappy red/red repaint, that faded, unevenly.

Re: Orange Ty in Mo

I shot a few pics today. but i don't have a photobucket, and can't upload them. the guy said it had a brand new motor, with 500 miles on it (as he was "fixing" scratches on a white cherokee, with a a q-tip, and house paint: you be the judge) just got a few overall shots.

Re: Orange Ty in Mo

This truck looks the same exterior-wise as it was in 2003. Edit: I just noticed it has the wrong rear window also.
