These guys are great - they have been reviewing my data logs from the TCM and trying to help me figure out if my trans is bust or if it is the controller.

Russ has since sent me a PCS controller and a new wiring harness (apparently the wiring is different for a FWD vs RWD 80E) so this should solve my problem.

I called on Friday and they FED EX'd it the same day and it should be here TODAY! I am blown away.

Great to see some customer service like this

Now let's hope it fixes my trans!

When my 80e was acting up because of the tcu and filter , i was feeling the same way you did . Maybe even worse :lol: That held me back for almost a whole year . I finally got a new replacement tcu box with new wiring , and now when im driving my sy i forget that all even happened .

was yours a PCS box as well? I never even knew you had that problem though I did read about you having an extra filter in there causing problems.

i have an extra cooler but not an extra filter..

I can't wait for Saturday:

How was the filter causing problems? I'm starting my 4l80e swap and plan to reuse my remote filter That I used with the 700, is this somehow going to cause problems for me?

I boosted it in 3rd, then managed to try it in second. Saturday I hope to try it in 1st for the 1st time in 3 years

oh yeah...the sweet feeling of success as something else breaks...front or rear diff anyone?

No my bad box out of the box was an original style tci unit . Pulled that tranny and everything trying to figure that one out .

On the remote filter (and this is just my experience this one time your results may vary) After i got the new tci box ,new wiring , and new valvebody , my tranny still was not acting correctly . I had an external filter on the out of the 80e ,then it went to the cooler ,and then back to the 80e. Full throttle from a stop , slowly crept up to 20 mph in about 100yards . Clearly something was wrong .

I was about to pull the 80e back out for the 3rd time and something told me to see what happens when i bypass the filter housing . Went and picked up the $4 -6an fitting to try it out .

Started it up , smashed the gas and i was gone . Go figure ? The housing was marked in and out but it didnt matter either which way i had it . Must have something to do with the electronic pressure control in the trans ?
