that gt35r you posted is a chinese one... and you would for sure be looking at an external wastegate setup.

the pt6266 is a good turbo, i think theres an internal wastegate option available for it too. dont know for sure though, and expect to pay more then $900 for it with a gate. its similar to my 6162 i had mentioned earlier.

that would be a better choice over the chinese ones. still need an external gate.

I'd stick with a PTE, Garrett, Mitsubishi, Blouch, IHI, or other well-known mfg. Higher compression won't necessarily be bad, it will reduce the amount of lag, thereby allowing you to run a turbo that maintains its efficiency higher up vs a small one that runs out of breath and becomes a restriction.

GT3582 is a great turbo. I would suggest a .63 or .82 AR turbine housing, the 1.0 is a little large. Again, nothing will fit, you'll need to custom fab the exhaust downpipe.

V band is more expensive, but are much easier to remove than the 4 bolt flange.

Run a 3" downpipe if you have to build it. Don't even bother with a 2.5 if you're fab ing it from scratch.

Excellent. So I'm shopping now for a turbo with the following specs and hoping I have enough from my tax return to get it...

T3 flange
.83 AR
3" V-band exhaust to 3" DP
External WG on the crossover. (38mm or larger)
4" inlet
2.5" outlet

I did find the turbo adviser on Garrett's website.

Can someone tell me what the volumetric efficiency of a Vortec engine with port matched intake and heads?

Also trying to figure out Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) (lb/hp∙hr)

I know a guy named Paul who built a 550 h.p. Syclone I could find out what combo he used if you'd like I'll ask if you can e-mail him
