Plug Wires with PTE

Don't know which ones the rest of you are using but Ty1450 had the MSD's

Number six was laying against the downpipe. Replaced it with a 90 degree one from another set. I think next time I should buy the V8 set.

What is everyone else who has a PTE downpipe using. I wasn't comfortable putting it in a strain by forcefully zip-tieing it out of the way.

Not really an apples2apples comparison, but I have KB Headers, 72 Turbo, Mike Lee's 3" Downpipe etc. I use KB wires, but also use zip ties to keep them where I want them -- As far away from the hot stuff as possible!

I am using the MSD 8.5 wires for the Sy/Ty (don't remember the MSD part number). I bent #6 boot about 45 degrees and used some heat sleeving. No problems so far.

This is Tech Talk so apparently you are a post-whore. :fist:

I might try bending the wire although I would rather have a 135 or a 90 degree boot.

hes a whore hes a whore hes a whore!!!!

the #6 plug in the MSD sy/ty specific set is all fucked up. someone needs to call them and tell them how retarted they are. its too short, and it shouldnt be a straight plug. retards. other than that, the MSD's rock. i like their boots better than any i have seen. durable too! dont have to worrie about the boot pulling off.

someone should seriously post the MSD tech number so we can all call them and tell them how retarted their #6 wire is.

FWIW, not to steal a post, but I have a set of MSD 8.5mm generic V8 wires for sale, that are all 90 degree. I went with this set, since with ATR headers & PTE downpipe, I use all 90 degree ends, and the V8 set gives me 2 spare, for the same price as custom V6.

Anyways, that setup has worked for me for a while, just have to route them carefully, and I use Taylor heat shields on the boots.

PM me if you are interested in the wires; got 'em from Mike Hood recently.

I did the ziptie trick too. Got one way the hell out there. Of course this is on stock manifolds but for now it makes me happy when I look at it like that.

Now if I could just find time to drop my tranny.
