Ported Wastegate?

I've spent the last hour or so searching here and couldn't really find any "how-tos" on this. I'm pretty sure there is no cat on my truck (going to look again tonight). I do know there is an electronic cut-out at the end of the DP and then a Magnaflow muffler. Wait, I know there is no catalytic converter! Sorry, this truck is only three weeks old for me.

So are there any pics of a ported wastegate that I can see? And possibly a write-up on how to do this? I'm taking my turbo to a place for a rebuild tomorrow and will be asking them about this. I don't want to put a cat on this truck, so to keep things safe from over boosting, what are some good options?

Wait for sportmachines version of the JSM 3" downpipe to come out. If it is like the original JSM dp, you can gut the backside of the turbo for solid boost control

Re: Ported Wastegate?

I was reading about that actually...that DP would be an easy way to fix this prb (if I even have a boost control prb, I don't know yet).

Code what?
My forge wastegate gets me a solid 18psi on a stock 20g turbo and down pipe. The details are in a thread in the gp forum

Forgot! That's with no cat. It ran solid 15 with the stock cat. The springs can be changed to adjust your desired boost

Re: Ported Wastegate?

I take it that if I were to get this WG from Forge, I wouldn't need to port the WG hole now? My turbo is at the shop right now. They are looking at getting the parts for a rebuild and I told them to port the Wastegate.

I still saw some overboost with a opened up exhaust housing and a JSM 3" DP.

Once I put a cat back on the truck it's pretty steady now.
