PTE DP Install

Ok, Guys,

I've got everything out of the car - engine trans, front diff. - wow, so much room. The stock DP twisted right out of the CatCon which was a big surprise. I thought I might put in the new PTE Catcon and 3" DP while everything was out. Anyone see any problems w doing this ?

Can't see any reason why you would want to. It will probably be in your way when you go to install the engine. It's very easy to install it with everything bolted in first, so no big hurry. You probably need the turbo and catback bolted up anyways, so you can determine the proper overlap at each joint of the DP.

having the dp in will also make putting your passenger side bellhousing bolts a lot more fun to put in.

PTE DP and CatCon

PTE DP and CatCon

Ok, guys, U convinced me to not install the pipe.

I just installed the Cat Con, and it is much smaller and lighter than stock. U can't use the old floorboard heat shield. I guess I'll have to make a heat shield for it. Fortunately it does bolt onto the shock absorber exhaust mount on the crossmember.

I had a little shock when I 1st tried to fit up the DP pieces. I had assumed that the piece w the "dump" on it was the 1st portion attached to the CatCon. That wouldn't fit there at all, and I had a moment of panic where I was thinking - "OhmiGod, this thing doesn't come close to fitting - they must have given me the wrong piece. And I went and got it Jet Hot coated too."

But then I checked putting the other piece into the convertor and that appears to be the way it goes
