question on lifters install?

I am putting in new lifters in the sy and got thinking. When you put in a new cam you have to install new lifters so is it alright to put in new lifters without a new cam?

as long as you arent switching types of cams and lifters (ie no Roller cam lifters on a std cam) you should be ok. Put some assy lube on them for good measure and if you want to avoid the time for them to 'PUMP-UP' I usually soak them atleast overnite (or until the bubbles stop) in engine oil.
