Re: quick answer on 80e install

I disconected the lines and set them on blocks while I built the engine. ROb sent me a good diagram of the fueline route. I had it correct but the lines were tweaked a bit. Its very tight and trying to lift the trans by myself not only hurt my arm but I kinked the lines a bit. I will buy some braided lines from rpm. I feel better now after the drinking and soon as I come back from looking at a house I will try to finish the drivetrain. Thanks everyone, Gary

Please please don't hurt yourself doing this. I don't want to see anyone else getting injured doing this stuff. Try to get the guys to come over and help you out. It also helps when you are raising it up, you have more eyes around it. If the lines are not smashed, you can still bend them back or tweak them a bit. As the trans goes forward to the engine, it will move away from the larger line in the picture. Mine are down a lot farther than yours. Make sure you have plenty of support under the truck so it cannot move. Cinder blocks, anything. Please be careful.

Re: quick answer on 80e install

Thanks for your concern George. Yes, after what happened to myclone I am trying my best to be careful. I have the rear blocked on both sides and am using 6 ton stands and my jack on the front. Also have my trans jack. I had to raise the trans 12 inches while under the truck because while sitting on my jack I could not get the truck high enough to clear. The hard work is done. Now I just have to torque it al down and put the shafts on.

Re: quick answer on 80e install

another question. the energy suspension trans mount has a bracket that looks like it goes between the t-case and the mount. Do i need this. I measured the mount compared to stock and the new mount is already taller. this would make it over 3/8 inch taller. Cant see it doing anything but a spacer?

I've heard some guys complain about vibration with it and other complain without it. Try it with it first. If it puts the t-case up too high, take it back out.

Re: quick answer on 80e install

got it in there. I also notice a small amout of trans fluid on the bottom of the t-case where the seams meet. I guess all the stress broke the seal. I give up! its going to stay that way. I refuse to drop it again!!!!!
