quick balancer question

What size balancer is recommended for our motors? And we use ones for external balanced motors right? Looking for a good balacer while also not breaking the bank.

Re: quick balancer question

Pioneer 872021 is what is on my build.
It is SFI approved and I believe what RPM used on their engine builds.

ATI is way more $$$ but has a reputation behind it. just dont get the aluminum hub version for a street driven truck.

Re the link to Rockauto above. They currently list among others, a PIONEER DA2621 for a shade under $63, you'll always also find a discount code to save a couple $ somewhere on line.
I believe but will always stand to be corrected on this though, is that one issue with using a sbc balancer is that the timing marks on the timing cover are usually different to the 4.3, so tdc dosent align with the timing mark.
As long as what you choose is the same outside diameter, neutral balanced, clears the timing cover and you can align/shim the crank drive belt pulley with the rest of your set up it should work. You will just need to determine where tdc is and mark it on the outer ring.
