Quick LSX question

In my quest for conversion parts I came accross a 01 Yukon 4l60e for my build. It was attached to a 5.3. is it worth picking up for my build? Price is 400....

Im doing a mild cam NA 5.3 build..

It's an excellent start since you can fabricate everything you need with that engine, and just drop in a larger ls motor without any modification later. Remember, all LS engines measure identically the same externally. And all have the about the same bolt holes

The 5.3 is no longer attached.. That price is just for the trans.. I was just stating the motor for variation purposes.. Im not sure if the 5.3/4l60e and the 6.0 /4l60e are the same...

So Should I buy the trans?

use your stock ty transfer case, most guys get the transfer case input shaft to adapt in a 4l80e and the 4l80e transmission/tranfer case adapter plate. Stick with buying a 4l80e. The 4l80e and 4l60e will both bolt to a 5.3 block or any LSx block for that matter so don't worry about that. The cheapest route is to just get a complete setup with ECM/accessories/engine/trans ..it will take away alot of questions and little parts to get a cheaper swap done. Not hard to find the complete pullouts in the $1200-$1500 range and that's a 6.0/4l80e combo.
