Radio Reset at Restart

My radio resets after I shut it off?!? Is this a symptom of something else?

Umm excuse me but shouldnt we be getting it to run properely BEFORE we start relaxing in the truck drinkin and listening to the oldies?

Excuse me for wondering if this was a symptom of a loose ground.










Btw...I was actually enjoying the sounds of my turbo spinning...not the radio as teh antenna was still in teh cab.

If the stero works at all I would say it is doubtful it is a bad ground.

I would say you don't have the constant power lead hooked to a constant power source if it is an aftermarket stereo. If you just installed it - check to make sure you didn't hook the +12v to the switched wire. It isn't going to hurt anything - it'll just keep you setting the time everytime you start the truck

If it is a factory stereo......fuse.

hmm stock stereo...but I'm beginning to wonder about this truck....

oh and when I push in the cigarette lighter it turns off the radio.

they should be on the same fuse, and something is overheating and tripping the fuse.
