Rear Disc Brake e-brake cable setup

I know jjorgenson made a version of these at one point, but not sure who took over the reigns or if they're still making them or what.

But, I made a set for MRKING...once he test fits this and tries the thing out....should be able to offer these to anyone in need. And no they won't be made of aluminum for the final product...stainless or mild steel will be the final metal used (along w/ some welded bracing to stiffen the thing up a bit....although it's pretty rigid as is.

oh and I realize we only really need 1 bracket - I wasn't sure which way the thing was supposed to be bent so i just made a mirrored version in case i bent it wrong :lol:

i think they're setup for stock ebrake cable, MRKING will have to confirm

I have stock e-brake cables and '01 Ls1 rear discs . When I fit the template , it appeared to leave enough room to wrap the end of the cable around the e-brake arm and I was just going to use a cable clamp to secure it .They look correct for left and right , thanks again mike .

These arrived earlier today mike and I couldnt wait to try them out . They are already installed and my ebrake works great . In neutral with no ebrake I can roll my truck fairly easily , ebrake on , not at all . Thanks again .

I did have to modify them in 2 spots , but nothing major . The ebrake cable hole had to be opened up just a hair over 0.50 inch , and the top hole needed to be moved over 0.25 inch away from the axle opening . Pretty damn good given my crude template . Also the cable end doesnt click into position once through the opening because of material thickness . I cant see that being a concern though , there isnt enough slack for it to pull out anyway .

I was able to climb under my truck , undo the nuts , slide these on the bolts , and tighten everything up in 20 minutes once fitted . It took at least that long to tighten the 2 small cables clamps on each side . I wouldnt mind a fitted cable , but for 3 bucks , these will work just fine . It would take some voodoo magic to undo these ,with the help of a little red loctite of course .

It began to rain right after I finished so pics may come later tonight or tues afternoon .

sweet. any chance you could send one back to me in its modified/working status so i can update the design? Also, i could mill the cable hole thinner so that it can click into place.

How about overall strength of the bracket? Think its ok in the current 1/8" alum? Or should be maybe use stainless steel instead to make it a hair stronger?

Yeah I can do that . The bracket itself seems strong enough but you know everybody loves stainless :)

I already bent the legs out a litte bit and it took some force , but in a panic situation where its stressed , maybe it would give . The pics I sent to your email listed , are with the ebrake on . The couple I took with it off came out fuzzy for some reason .

who uses the foot brake to panic stop? :lol: That'd be funny though. I'll make a set in stainless and see how strong it is.
