rebuildibg front end, remove spindle?

got the upper ball joints off tonight.
does the big nut need to be taken off behind rotor to reomve spindle?
does spindle nee to be removed?
how do i inspect the shafts going to rotor(CV shaft??)?
any pointers for doing everyting i am.

yes the big nut needs to come off
on the back side of the spindle there is three bolts that hold the wheel bearing to it, those need removed. as far as inspecting the cv joints, as long as the boots aren't torn and it doesn't click when you turn real tight you should be good. oh and a good trick once you take the big nut off and before you take the wheel bearing loose is us an air chisel with a pointed bit and put in in the dimple on the end of the cv shaft and hammer away untill it's pushed out. or use a rubber mallet/dead blow to beat it out.
