Recommendations for gauges

I have had it with my single pod gauge, (which always falls off) and VDO boost (not vacuum) guage that is inaccurate.

So I am going to get a 2 or 3 gauge pod. I am not big into gauges all around the truck, I do use my diacom often and try to get my cars into top running condition.

I want black analog gauges that match the dash, so I would like some recommendations. I like the way VDO looks, but I am not that happy with mine (maybe I have a pinched line) Autometer Z series look fine, but I don't like the way the vacuum section is orange. Most of the Japaneese (HKS, Greddy) use bars and I would prefer psi. Any other Companies that make quality gauges?

I definately want a vacuum/boost gauge and I have looked into an EGT gauge. Will an EGT temp fitting be easily welded into the stock manifolds?

I know some recommend FP and Tranny Temp gauges, but am I really going to look at these. My fuel pressure should just track boost and I already have a mechanical fuel pressure guage that I could route to the windshield if need be (I just need a longer extension). I don't do many boost launches, so if I have my tranny well cooled (aux cooler, aftermarket pan) is it really worth it to see my tranny temps?

I don't know how much you are looking to spend as far a gauges go. But i know that DFI makes some really bad ass looking gauges that are a light silver, and the numbers light up backlite green when you turn them on....We just put them in my friends lightning. The are electric gauges and supposed to be some of the most accurate from what i have heard. I imagine they are going to be kind of costly though.

I too wanted gauges that looked like stock. I got an AutoMeter Sport Comp -30/+20 boost gauge, ATM-3301 I think. Under $50 from egauges.com.

Some of those are pretty crappy, as I took them in the dark. They have black faces with white numbers, an orange needle, and a silver bezel. With the green bulb cap on, I think it looks like it could've been stock... 6 and 7 are probably the best shots of the gauge (dark and light), and 9 lets you see the stock gauges too. I still need to decide what i want to put in the second pod...

I went with boost and electric FP gauges from Autometer. They're the carbon fiber ones mounted in a Lotek 2-pod - I like them a lot but they're not cheap. Go to my site for pictures. I'm thinking about adding a tranny temp gauge myself - very important if you drive your truck hard.

You have a lot of pictures on your website...could you give me a better idea where to look or what number to look at.

i got my 3 gauge pillar from gaugepods.com its grey to match and i put a set of autometer 2 5/8 gauges ultra-light pro comp silver face gauges and i like the way they look once i get the third gauge in ill post a pic
