Right side motor mount..

There's a foil covered bracket covering the motor mount w/a straight head screw holding it in.

I turn the screw, nothing happens. Should I just tear this thing off? What is it?

Hope somebody knows what Im talking about... Im 2 bolts away from the motor being out! :p

That is the heat shield for the motor mount. I would avoid damaging it, as it helps to keep them from melting. Sounds like the screw is stripped. Can you get some plyers and pull it out? My motor has been out countless times and I don't have them on my truck.

Thats what I figured it was ... I should hang on to it after reading about the poly mounts melting... I'll try yanking the screw... its pretty far back though.

If I remember right, you can't remove that screw with a screw driver, it spin on the back side (its not a nut either).

tear those things out, thro em in the trash and when you put it back in use solid mounts and forget about motor mounts for the rest of your life.

I found no difference in vibration and solids do not affect your knock sensor despite what others may tell you here!
