Romulator Sync. issues

I have looked through Hoods write up on the topic but am still having issues.

All I'm doing at this point is trying to get the truck to run off the Romulator using Cat's RT software. The software finds romulator, syncs with it and uploads and reads programs fine. Everything looks good on the computer end. No red lights or flags. Green light on Romulator.

The truck is using a Moates G1 adaptor hooked up same as Hood's write up. Truck starts, runs but has CE light and runs poorly. Tried to check the CE light but when the 2 circuts are shorted at ALDL I get nothng. CE light doesn't even blink. Try stock chip to confirm that the diag. feature does in fact work, it does.

Any ideas? I am wondering if I have a defective unit.

that happend to me. i had a bad romulator.

Definitely a bad flash.

Have you tried another adapter (Ultimate, Hypertech, modified stock, etc...)? The G3 gave me trouble at first, but it worked in the end.

Have you tried using another editor (promgrammer, etc....)? Maybe try another one and see if it gives you the same results. I've seen lots of oddities with RT (when used with varied trucks, different versions of Windows, etc....)

Otherwise, could be a bad unit or bad USB converter (if used).

No USB on it.

This is the only unit I have tried.

The flash act's like it goes but isnt read. I have tried the xtronics software and cant get it to run on it either.

How were they about an exchange?

My first attempt to run Romulator (yesterday) i got the same problem? I have the same set up as you. Did you ever found out if it was a bad Romulator, or was it another problem?

Appriciate any help in this matter, so i know what to do.

The switch on the G3 adapter, dos it matter what the settings are when you run Romulator?
