Run high octane race gas or not?

I did a search and came up empty. :(
I am taking the Syclone out tomorrow night for some more street racing and happen to have 10 gallons of 110 unleaded left over from pit crewing for a friend.

Bone stock truck. Will it increase or decrease hp? It will be in the 40's for temp here if that helps. I have a WRX that is running 13.5's all day long I don't want to get beat by. One can hope right!

Thanks guys.

Kind of depends, if your trucks not knocking then 110 will slow ya down a bit, if your trucks knocking then you'll see some gains. I've ran 110 straight for two years, but I'm taking advantage of the extra octane by running 26-27 psi all the time, gets a little expensive, but it's more fun.

Thanks guys. I'm new to this turbo stuff. On my old Impala SS unless you had heads/headers and a few other mods it actually slowed me down. But I thought with the turbo it might be able to burn the good stuff better. I'm going to fill the 3/4 of the tank with 110 and see what happens.

Definately helps, but if you have a cat, may not be a good idea to run leaded gas.....

It's the unleaded kind. The track here does not sell the leaded stuff yet. I think they are afraid at the Saturday night street races all the ricers will get confused and fill up with it and sue them. LOL

It's the new track over in Iowa. http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/ http://www.midamericamotorplex.com/code/streetracing.htm We have been drag racing on the 2222 ft back strait. The 1/8 drag strip is not done yet. Will be finished by spring. I know a few good friends of the owner and have met him. They are trying to talk him into making it a full 1/4 mile but who knows if that will happen or not.

I have a wedding to go to Saturday so I can't go rice eating at the track, but I need my fix so I will be playing on the *cough* street *cough* tonight.

I dont think anyone makes 110 unleaded, 104 is the highest unleaded I have ever seen.

What brand is it?

You are correct. The guy on the phone had no clue what he was talking about. They have 110 leaded and 100 unleaded. So I got $30 of 100 unleaded. At $3.90 a gallon! Truck runs real good. Boosted off the line great and I can get 2 feet of black marks on the 2nd gear shift.

You can get 110 unleaded and 114 unleaded. 116 is always leaded.

I normaly spend $5.60 per gallon

Yep, they grab you by the hips and give it to you dry NO lube. Just dont cry as your paying.

Or they'll do it again!!!
