Re: Running again
For those keeping score.....
Dunwoody swapped in a 95 L35 engine (complete with 9.1:1 compression) and brought it over to get it retuned (needed timing adjustment, WOT fueling, and hot start tweaking). Got it dialed in a lot better. He's running a 60s turbo, 3" DP, 50#ers, methanol injection, and possible a small shot of nitrous. Much like E-Rue found out, the additional compression really wakes up the truck at cruise and part throttle, but takes some headroom away at WOT. He was running 22 psi on the old engine and is running 17 psi on the new engine. The new engine feels stronger at 17 psi and has zero detonation right now. We went ultra-conservative on the tune, but will squeeze a little more out once we have some more seat time.
All in all, a very fun truck to drive and it cranks and cruises like a regular Blazer.
