Silverblaz rebuild thread

Well As some of you know over the last winter i build and ran a typhoon engine set up in my 1986 blazer on a 95 CPI short block just like vortecfiero.

It just so happens that we are both doing a rebuild at the same time so i will be posting in the near future as the build goes on.

The reason for the rebuild was because i finally got to the track and did one run no issues ran good 13.7 at 103 then the second run dont know what happened but spun a rod just around the 1000 ft mark. So long story short engine is out i am not using the 95 balance shaft block anymore even though it is in perfect STD shape. I am using a 89 non balance shaft block.

As the build sheet goes this is what is going in so far and its getting done right the first time

89 non balance shaft block .040 over (debating doing a medium fill)

4 bolt mains 2 bolt billet front

JE extreme duty pistons

Eagle H beam Rods

Stock Cryo'd Crank

2002 Vortec heads with factory shaft mount rollers

Pioneer SFI damper

B&M SFI Flex Plate

Edlebrock Timing chain

Custom Spec Cam

Balanced Rotating Assembly

ARP where ever it can go

anything i forgot will be added later with pictures

Re: Silverblaz rebuild thread

Here are some pics of the FIRST part order everything was purchased through RPM. I searched high and low and not only do they have great service and the proper parts for our engines, they also have the best prices around very hard to find anyone lower.

Sorry for the Photo Quality they are with my Phone

Looks like you are off to a good start. Lots and fun and lots of $$.
Do you have any more pictures of your Blazer?

Second we have my vortec heads which i have started to port and experiment with.
I didn't see a great reason to port the heads because it is a boosted application and it is not as important as in NA but i was on hold and bored so i started even the combustion chambers are getting done, and yes they are being checked for volume to all be the same
