Slight ping at partial throttle

It's never enough
Not very loud but it's there. Not really under much boost if any. Figured that meant too much timing so backed it down (with the brown wire unplugged) and it almost seems as if it got worse. It's like the truck wants more timing, just doesn't make sense. WTF

Could be timing or running lean. What was the timing set at? It should be "0" with the tan wire unplugged. The balancer ring can spin so you should verify TDC. Mine is off a couple of degrees. Also do you have a stock chip?

Problem is no datamaster yet and WB02 hasn't read right in a while http://www.syty.net/forums/showthread.php?t=102511. Set the timing at 0 however the actual timing indicator is worn so just bumped it to the arrow assuming that was the mark. Took it for a drive after and it was better but still had slight pinging. It's never really under boost or WOT only partial throttle. Running Dig's chip.

Always run 92 or better gas. No alky. Stock ported turbo, external gate, cat delete, 160tstat, AFPR, walbro255, 60lb injectors, 3 bar map, L35s, custom ground cam, egr delete, IC pump, forged internals,4 bolt mains.

New replacement coil and TPS as of yesterday. New(er) distributor pick up coil.

Haven't replaced plug wires/plugs in a little while. Starting to think that could be contributing because under WOT pinging is gone but it has slight flutter only in high gear. Bosch WB sensor is on it's way so hopefully I'm not in the dark anymore with A/F assuming the current sensor I have in is bad.

You need a scan tool and/or functioning wbo2. (Ideally both). If your hearing detonation that is bad. The ECM could be pulling out lots of timing and your not realizing it.
