Small hole in oil pan

Seems a rod has forced a hole in the side of my oil pan( and only the oil pan, thank the lord). Not rodding, building boost...just pulling away from a stop. So now I need to research the costs ahead. What have been the costs for engine R&R, machining and rebuilding. Just need ballpark numbers. I feel I have to get it running....beautiful Artic white paint 2009, totally no rust/body damage, rebuilt trans 20K ago, 91000 miles and all stock down to radio. '93 #1576, thanks.

Hard question to answer. Are you getting the heads done also? How bad is the crank hurt? If it's junk then you might as well buy a nice crank($1000.00) need a new block? Add another grand, maching etc another grand, misc parts another grand, paying a mechanic to r and r it another grand.Start around 5k and end up with 7k. Just a ball park.

If you have a hole in the oil pan, it's mostly likely there is other additional internal damge. If there isn't any damage, go out and play the lottery.

You can rebuild a more recent vortec motor for much cheaper.. google E RUE - he did it and explains how.
