SoGT guys need help!

Anyone with a SoGT that can snap a picture of their rear bumper bracket and corner cladding bracket? I know the corner cladding bracket is slightly different then a Sy, but I didn't think the bumper bracket would be. Manual states that SoGT has an extra hole, wondering how it mounts. Any help is appreciated.

I don't have pics but I do remember the GT bumper sticks out past the tailgate about 1.5" like the Ty, the Sy is almost flush. Maybe Ty and GT are the same?

You're right, I completely forgot about that, Sy cladding is very tight on the back corner, that explains a lot. Ty rear bumper brackets are definitely different then Sy or SoGT though, so SoGT must be specific, as are the rear corner brackets as I found out today. I'd still like to see pics if you have em.

Thanks Ron, pics helped, the bumper brackets are obviously longer and the rear corner brackets are different too, I'll just have to make up some spacers to make things work.

The rear corner brackets are different? I used my teal SoGT brackets as a template to make them for the Sy cladding on the ext cab Sy. They worked.

Chip, is your frame, at least in the rear, a 2wd frame? I think thats what make the differences. Also does the bumper stick past like a SGT, or flush like a Sy?

Greg, the front bumper support is different for SGT than SyTy cause of 2wd also. Not that you cant make it work.

Re: SoGT guys need help!

I'll try and get some pictures, but what I have found is that on the corner brackets there is an approximate 1/2" gap between the mount and the cladding. The holes line up exact, just a gap. At the same time, my rear bumper is a good 1/2-3/4" inward when the brackets are bolted to the factory frame holes. Now this is on a 2wd frame, but I'm not aware of any differences in the rear frame section from 2wd to 4wd, so I'm assuming the brackets were made different to accommodate the GT cladding sticking out further off the back of the truck.

What do you think is different in the front support? I put a front bumper on my truck and had zero issues with that.

Re: SoGT guys need help!

the 2 main bolts are the same. the big ones that have to have a wrench on both sides.
the side brackets by bumper markers same

its the other 2 supports on the bottom that are different because of 2wd frame

Ok I gotcha, I didn't know those were different on the front support, I've never seen a GT. I left those off of mine for now, I'd like to find a way to fab them up to work, we'll see what I can make lol.

It's a 2wd frame, but has all Sy cladding, except the modded rockers for the extended cab. The back corners and bumper are Sy.I never paid attention to how the SoGT rear looked, being the bumper cover was pushed up in the center because of a tow hitch and I removed the bumper, and one of the corners was hanging on because of damage and I removed it. Then I used one of the corner brackets as a template to make two for the ext cab Sy.

On the 2wd ext cab Sy front lower bumper bracket I drilled and tapped into the frame for what I assumed was a Sy/Ty bumper and hardware. The tapping is now stripping out and I'm going to drill out and put in a blind nut to better secure it. It would help stiffen the bumper assembly.
