So I've been posting the progress of SoGT 569 to the syty facebook page, but decided to share an update on here. When I bought the truck in September 2014, it had a misfire, exhaust leak, and destroyed steering column. Not to mention the cladding missing and broken. The list of repairs goes like this:
rebuilt steering column
manifolds and y-pipe
Replaced all of the ignition with AC Delco parts
Transmission rebuilt
GM spider injectors installed
Cooling system replaced
Drilled and slotted rotors
All brake components except hard lines replaced
Windshield replaced and windows tinted
Steering components replaced
Suspension replaced and lowered 4/5

Re: Sonoma GT 569

Figured I should do a quick update. Right before Carlisle 2015, I finally got the correct bumper and bumperettes onto the truck. Spider injector only lasted about 8 months, leaving me stranded 40 miles from home. Other than that, no real issues. Just continuing to clean up the truck.

Re: Sonoma GT 569

The time came to retire the engine in Sogt 569. The final drive for that engine was to Illinois to do the swap. The 4.3 from Sonoma GT 597 went in. Loaded the old engine in the bed, and headed 750 miles back east. A huge thank you to those involved. I don't believe I would have accomplished this project in the time frame I had alone. She's now running better than ever. Glad to still have her on the road.
